Rogue traders are by there nature concerned purely with the economical aspects of warfare and while they will fight against the imperiums threats they will only generally do so if said threat is endangering there empire. It’s all hazy, but I feel like a mismatched Rogue Trader fleet could be a lot of fun. To describe any given Rogue Trader’s vessel as an ‘armed merchant ship’ is technically accurate given that a Rogue Trader is as easily described as an ‘armed merchant’.
